Screen capture reveals explorations in editing which led to a deconstructed intervention into the military recruitment film ‘What Would You Do?’ I prioritised the shapes and spaces within the composition of scenes, directing attention away from the original narrative structure of the advert.

My investigation started with a process of reverse storyboarding. Using stilling and stopping functions on my desktop, I was able to make basic drawings which revealed a structure based on triangles - denoting hostile exteriority and spheres which was coded as homosocial belonging.
